Hallo,

Lomography legt bei ihrem Petzval Objektiv noch einmal nach und bringt nun eine Version mit Bokeh Control, also einer Vorwahl für die Stärke des Swirl Effektes.

Leider sind die Early Birds schon aus :/ Kurze Frage dazu - braucht man eine Vollformatkamera für den Swirl-Effekt wie bei dem Helios 44-2 58mm oder geht es mit diesem Glas auch auf Crop ? Danke!

My DSLR isn’t a full frame image sensor. What difference will this make to my New Petzval 58 photos?
On APS-C format (or cropped-frame) cameras, the New Petzval 58 has an equivalent focal length close to 85mm — that’s the same focal length as the New Petzval 85mm Portrait Lens. So whether you’re shooting with a full-frame or cropped-frame camera, you’ll be able to get great portrait, landscape and daily life shots!

Here are specific crop factors of various cameras when combined with the New Petzval 58:

• APS-C (such as Canon non full-frame digital SLR cameras, Fuji X-Pro 1 and some Sony NEX cameras)

You will have a crop factor of 1.5 or 1.6. An equivalent focal length of New Petzval 58 will be between 87mm and 93mm.

• Micro 4/3

You will have a crop factor of 2. The equivalent focal length to the New Petzval 58 will be 116mm.

Wenn man sich die MTF-Werte und die Beispielbilder ansieht, dann würde ich schon davon ausgehen, dass der Effekt im DX Format weniger (kleinerer Rand/Swirl-Bereich) zu sehen ist, insbesondere wenn man das Objektiv abblendet.

Mir gefällt der Messing-Look dieser Petzval-Objektive von Lomography, allerdings finde ich sogar den "super early bird" Preis von $375 zu hoch für eine reine "Effekt-Linse". Zudem bin ich kein Fan des "Swirl Effektes", ich mag es wenn das Bokeh unauffällig ist.
