Nikon will not announce successors to the Z6II and Z7II cameras this year (2023). We will be getting the Nikon Z8 within weeks (a new teaser campaign is rumored) and there is also a second “surprise” full-frame camera coming in the fall – that is all, no other new bodies in 2023. I have no idea what the second camera will be, but here are some possibilities:
- Dedicated video camera (a lot of video talk is coming from Nikon lately)
- Retro full-frame Z camera – a real Nikon Df replacement (the idea was discussed in some recent interviews)
- Small full-frame vlogging camera (something like the Sony ZV-E1?)
If you read the posts on the Nikon Z8 Facebook Group, some Nikon fans seem to be confused (and even upset!) because the Nikon Z8 camera was not announced already. Keep in mind that some of the events I already mentioned online could be internal and only for camera testers under NDA and we will never know about them (I am 100% sure that some people are already under NDA from Nikon):
As I already reported on several occasions, the Nikon Z8 will be announced in one way or another before the Summer (teasers, development announcements, etc).
The post Nikon is rumored to announce two new cameras in 2023: the Z8 and another full-frame model (no Z6III or Z7III on the horizon) appeared first on Nikon Rumors.
